Stockport County stormed to a convincing victory at basement side Forest Green Roves, taking top spot in the process.

The visitors dominated throughout and broke the deadlock after 19 minutes when Callum Camps took the ball inside and found the top right-hand corner with a fine 25-yard shot.

They doubled their lead nine minutes later when the referee played an advantage allowing Ibou Touray to break down the left and whip in a low cross which Rico Richards turned home.

Forest Green keeper Vicente Reyes denied the Hatters further first-half goals with two point-blank saves.

After 33 minutes, visiting skipper Paddy Madden broke through only for his shot to be blocked by the keeper's outstretched leg and Reyes denied Kyle Wootton moments later following a goalmouth scramble.

But it was 3-0 six minutes into the second half when Wootton got the better of his marker and squared to Connor Lemonheigh-Evans, whose shot was going wide until it hit Rovers defender Jamie Robson and flew into the net.

In contrast, the home side failed to manage a shot on target all afternoon.

I am French and live in Manchester. County are the team that I follow in England. I am delighted with the way they play and I hope so much they will go up. After the difficult past few weeks, I am glad they are back on form for the title race and promotion. Come on County!

FGR players should all be disciplined by the club for dereliction of duty. They played as though they were literally only there to make the numbers up. We should have had another 2 or 3 goals against a team who clearly couldn't be bothered

No goal attempts on target from Forest Green for the second successive game. That's an achievement of sorts. With both Sutton and Colchester winning, Stale Mince must have a face down to his Aris.

Excellent result for County. I was expecting a tougher game, what with Forest Green fighting for their League 2 lives but it looks like they've given up. Lets keep it going on Monday against The Wombles. I reckon 4 more wins will see us promoted & 5 will see us as champions. COME ON COUNTY.

The lower leagues of the EFL is littered with plastic clubs like Salford, Fleetwood and FGR. I for one will be glad to see them back in their rightful place. Proper well supported clubs with history like Wrexham, Stockport and Chesterfield are what it's all about.

Just now chilling at home. Obviously a great day out from a County point of view. FGR really poor but short of confidence. They've had some decent results. They just need to go for broke now. Also I don't get the dislike for them though. I'd rather come to a good welcoming place like FGR then many other places that I've been to in the past.
