Former Ipswich Town defenders Richard Keogh and Dominic Thompson have suffered relegation from League Two with Forest Green Rovers.

Steve Cotterill's side were officially relegated following Colchester United's 2-0 win over Grimsby Town last night, leaving Rovers eight points adrift in the fourth tier with two games to play.

Keogh joined Forest Green back in February on a deal until the end of the season, having left Wycombe Wanderers after agreeing to terminate his contract by mutual consent.

The veteran defender has made 14 appearances during that period but hasn't been able to help them avoid the drop to the National League after seven seasons in the EFL.

He played 16 games for Town last season as he helped the Blues win promotion back to the Championship.

Thompson is on loan at the New Lawn from League One side Blackpool. He has made 19 appearances and scored once since joining them in January.

The 23-year-old spent the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan at Portman Road from Brentford, making 17 appearances during his spell.
